Adding the dual inverter to an Acer AL511 thank you to j & P electronics in Kidderminster very professional if you want them to do the work for you telephone john price on 01562 753 893, i can highly recommend them for all work Obviously this is the same with the others specs below ordering at this link ACER AL 511 Adding the dual inverter to an Acer AL511 Inverter connections Acer AL511 connections PIN 1 J33 12v PIN 2 J15 Bri. See note 1 PIN 3 J8 On /Off PIN 4 or 5 J36 Ground Note 1 To achieve full brightness this pin is best left disconnected. The acer varies this between 0 and 3.5 v. the inverter needs 0 to 5v. The fact that the bri. Is not adjustable does not matter as adjusting the contrast from the OSD gives plenty of range. (Try it yourself and see which gives best results) Start by removing the old ccfl connectors, inverter transformers, capacitors, and chokes (see pictures 2 and 3) All the components on the under side may be left unless any are burnt or discoloured. Add the 3 wires on the inverter PCB to pins 1,3,4 or 5 and solder to J33 J8 and J36 respectively. Fasten the inverter using one of the original mounting holes and a standoff pillar. On the other end use a self-adhesive pillar. See pictures. Note routing of wires to CCFL’s Pictures 1 The un-modded Acer 2 Close up of the parts to be removed. 3 Parts removed. 4 The 3 wires connected. 5 Note the routing of the CCFL wires. If you try to bring them in over the top (as in Picture 4) they will get pinched and short to chassis. 6 Job done.
